About Camp

The 4th annual Yukon Girls Rock Camp is July 16-21, 2018 in Dawson City, Yukon.

Camper, Junior Counsellor and staff applications will open in March 2018.

At our 6-day summer camp, participants learn an instrument, form a band, write a song and rock out on main stage at the prestigious Dawson City Music Festival.

In addition to music and band practices campers will talk about growing up in the North, gender issues, media literacy, and positive self-expression. They’ll also learn how to make their world an awesome place to live through community activism.

Not So Sure?

Across the world, Rock Camp mandates strive to boost creativity, confidence, self-esteem in young girls and women, using music as a platform.

Yukon Girls Rock Camp produces a week’s worth of rock stars, but most (if not all) of the campers were very shy and nervous on the first day. This is totally normal!

Our Camp Camp Staff will help you develop the confidence to rock out with your friends. Stay tuned to find out which awesome ladies will be leading this years camp!

Junior Counsellors

Girls ages 13 to 18 are encouraged to apply as Junior Counsellors! Just select the box on the application form.

Junior Counsellors will develop leadership skills, form bands, and work closely with Camp Counsellors throughout the week. JCs also have their own space and workshops during camp. The JC program is a great way to develop leadership skills, learn, and have fun.
